Lockdown has certainly had a massive influence on the high street. It is sad to see such a significant drop in sales. This is estimated at £1bn+. However, the same cannot be said for online shopping. Recent data suggests approximately one in every five urban pounds is being spent there. No wonder so many pallet networks are no longer offering a next day premium service.

The impact of lockdown on transport and deliveries
Its not hard to notice the increase in traffic on the roads with more congestion than we have been used to over the previous 14 months. In many ways it shows a return to normality and how things were pre-lockdown, which of course we all welcome. Unfortunately, this can also impact on delivery times. So we ask you to be patient with us as we meet the demands of surging online shopping and deal with the traffic…as well as regular drivers getting used to driving again!

To deal with the demand, we have now added a Renault Master to our fleet, and its great to see the Bottrills logo proudly emblazoned across our vehicles. To keep on top of the extra loads John, Joe and Karl are all doing their bit with extra weekend and evening deliveries.
